Job Description:
Huxley Communications is looking to hire an experienced full-time Combination Technician for our Iowa market.

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of duties including Internet, phone, and video-service installations and repair; supports timely customer installations and ongoing satisfaction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Huxley Communications provides Internet, phone, and video services in many Central Iowa Communities. Huxley Communications serves a diverse mix of both residential and business customer requirements.

Huxley Communications is seeking a motivated individual with technical skills to perform a variety of installation and repair duties including Internet, phone, and video-service installations. Other responsibilities consist of troubleshooting and repair of these services. As well as locating underground facilities and fiber splicing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION
• High School Diploma – required
• College degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering – preferred

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Required:
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently
• Positive customer service attitude
• Ability to perform in-depth troubleshooting
• Attention to detail
• Fast learner and self-starter
• PC and smartphone application knowledge (Google, Microsoft, Adobe, etc.)
• Experience in working with basic hand tools and drills
• Safety first mindset
• Eligible to work in USA

Preferred:
• Various types of cabling experience
• CATV and IPTV experience
• Basic electrical theory

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Performs work duties both inside customer premises and outdoors often in harsh environments. Travel is required to customer locations; must be able to drive a company vehicle and maintain a valid state driver’s license. Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb and reach. Must be available to work occasional off hours and participate in on-call rotation. Must have good hearing and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, climb stairs, ladder and at times work in tight spaces. Pass drug testing. Perform other physical duties as required.
